About the Founder
Master Mbonigaba Boniface
Master Mbonigaba Boniface, also known as Master Bonny, is the Founder and Head Instructor of Kigali International Taekwondo Academy (KITA). He is among the pioneers of Taekwondo development in Rwanda and is widely recognized for his dedication to building the sport and mentoring the next generation of athletes.
Master Boniface belongs to the first generation of Taekwondo practitioners in Rwanda, contributing significantly to the growth and professionalization of the sport in the country.
Leadership and Contribution to Taekwondo
Master Boniface has served as the Secretary General of the Rwanda Taekwondo Federation since 2017, holding the position for over eight years. In this role, he has played a key part in organizing national programs, developing competitions, supporting athlete development, and strengthening Rwanda’s presence in international Taekwondo activities.
Through his leadership and commitment, he has contributed to the expansion of Taekwondo training opportunities, helping young athletes access professional coaching and international exposure.
International Qualifications and Recognition
Master Boniface holds internationally recognized qualifications that reflect his professionalism and dedication to continuous learning.
His credentials include:
- 5th Dan Black Belt certified by Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Headquarters in South Korea
- Kukkiwon International Master Certification, recognizing him as a qualified international Taekwondo instructor
- International Diploma in Elite Sports Management from Sports Academy Lausanne
These qualifications allow him to apply modern coaching methods, high-performance training principles, and international standards in developing athletes and students at Kigali International Taekwondo Academy.
Vision Behind Kigali International Taekwondo Academy
Master Boniface founded Kigali International Taekwondo Academy (KITA) with the vision of creating a professional, inclusive, and international training environment where people of all ages and nationalities can learn Taekwondo.
His vision is to make KITA a place where:
