- Our Mission
Kigali International Taekwondo Academy (KITA) is a professional martial arts institution in Rwanda, dedicated to teaching Taekwondo in a structured, respectful, and effective manner to youth and adults of all nationalities. Our mission is to develop disciplined, confident, respectful, and physically fit individuals through the core values of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.
- Voluntary Participation
Enrollment at KITA is entirely voluntary. By registering, students and/or their legal guardians confirm that they are joining of their own free will and understand the physical nature of martial arts training.
- Conduct and Discipline
Students must commit to: Training with discipline, focus, and consistency, respecting instructors, fellow students, and academy rules, Promoting unity and teamwork during sessions.
Taekwondo includes elements of discipline. The academy may implement corrective measures (verbal warnings, additional training drills, or temporary suspension) based on the student’s behavior or attitude. All disciplinary actions aim to foster growth and responsibility, never harm.
- No Tolerance to Misconduct
Taekwondo is a defensive and disciplined art. Misuse of Taekwondo techniques in acts of aggression, bullying, or misconduct inside or outside the academy will result in immediate disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from KITA.
- Uniform and Equipment
All students are required to wear the official Taekwondo uniform (Dobok) during classes. Additional protective gear may be required for sparring or competition training. Students are responsible for maintaining their own equipment.
- Payment Policy
- All payments must be paid in advance
- Fees are non-refundable once training has commenced.
- Uniforms and equipment payments are non-refundable once ordered.
- Health, Safety, and Risk Acknowledgement
All training is conducted under the supervision of qualified instructors with a strong focus on safety.
However, Taekwondo is a contact sport, and minor injuries may occur. By enrolling, students (and/or their guardians) acknowledge the inherent risks involved in martial arts training. KITA will take all reasonable precautions to prevent injury but cannot be held liable for unforeseen accidents.
- Medical Fitness and Insurance
Students must be physically fit to participate in Taekwondo training. KITA may request a medical clearance in case of known health conditions.
KITA does not provide personal medical insurance or treatment for students. All students (or guardians) are responsible for ensuring appropriate personal health insurance coverage during their participation at the academy.
